At 3.30pm on 23 April the 7 Bn King’s Shropshire light Infantry marched from Arras to Tilloy les Mofflaines. During the evening of 25 April they moved up into the support line; they went into newly built trenches to the east and south east of Monchy le Preux in the old German third line. The battalion was not directly involved in any actions but with the ongoing Arras Offensive the enemy were very active with high explosives and gas shells bombardments. On 28 April they returned to the trenches at Tilloy, Casualties for the 25-28 April were Officers 2 wounded: ORs 13 KIA, 53 wounded and 2 missing. During this time too an officer was KIA – Second Lieutenant WH Dibben (CWGC listed incorrectly as KIA 30 September 1917), he was attached to Brigade Staff and was killed by a shell which struck the Brigade HQ.
