Passchendaele. 56 Coy Machine Gun Corps. 26 October 1917.
56 Coy Machine Gun Corps was in 56 Brigade, 19 Division. In October 1917 the Brigade was operating in the Ypres Salient in the area to the south of the Menin Road near to Shrewsbury Forest. They were providing defensive and harassing MG fire. On 26 October, the opening day of the assaults against Passchendaele, they were out of the line and moved up to the front on 27 October. No other details are known.
