Public School War Memorials – Highgate School

Captain Eric Guy Harries, 1/7 Bn Royal Welsh Fusiliers.

The School Register contains the following:

“Harries, Eric Guy. Pupil May 1908 to April 1910. Son of T. D. Harries of Grosvenor House, Aberystwyth. Born 30 November 1892. Great War, Captain of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Died of wounds 14 August 1915.”

The school magazine, The Cholmeleian, gives his House as Fitzroy Lodge and records him being in the school football team.

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) records his death: “Eric Guy Harries, Captain, Royal Welsh Fusiliers, joined in 1908 and resigned in 1909. No details.”
