1/6 Bn Manchester Regiment – 127 Manchester Brigade 42 East Lancashire Division
The 1/6 Bn Manchester Regiment was a territorial unit mobilised at Wigan in August 1914. In September 1914 they moved to Egypt and then went to Gallipoli in May 1915, Following the evacuation from Gallipoli they remained in Egypt until March 1917 when they were transferred to the Western Front .
1/7 Bn Manchester Regiment

11 Bn Manchester Regiment – 34 Brigade 11 (Northern) Division
The 11 Bn Manchester Regiment was a service battalion raised at Ashton-under-Lyne in August 1914. In June 1915 they departed for Gallipoli, landing at Suvla bay on 6 August 1915. Following the evacuation from Gallipoli they were transferred to France in July 1916, They servd on the Somme in 1916, at Third Ypres in 1917 and, in 1918 the Kaiser Offensive and 100 Days. They remained in France until July 1919 when they returned home.
19 Bn Manchester Regiment – 21 Brigade, 30 Division.
The 19 Bn Manchester Regiment was a service battalion raised at Manchester in August 1914. It was a Pals battalion – 4th City, Manchester Pals. They went over to France in November 1915. They served at the Somme in 1916, at Arras and Third Ypres in 1917 and, in 1918 the Kaiser Offensive and 100 Days. The battalion was disbanded in France in February 1918.

3 Bn Middlesex Regiment – 85 Brigade 28 Division
The 3 Bn Middlesex Regiment was a regular unit. In August 1914 they were in India, they returned to the UK in December and went over to France in Jnary 1915 serving at Second Ypres and the Loos Offensive. In October 1915 they were transferred to Egypt and from there went to Salonika, Macedonia arriving in January 1916. They remained in Macedonia until the end of the war.
