In the 1900s a new industry that was still developing, the first domestic electricity had been in the 1880s, it would become more widely available in the 1930s and the establishment of the National Grid

Private 17094 Warren A Ash,7 Bn Canadian Infantry (British Columbia Regiment). served an apprenticeship at Cambrian Railways and them emigrated to Canada.

Private 6154  Albert E Loose, 2 Bn King’s Shropshire Light Infantry and Private 16926 Charles H Loose, 1 Bn King’s Shropshire Light Infantry. Their father retrained as an electrician.

Captain Joseph Monkhouse, 6 Bn Durham Light Infantry. Trained as an electrical engineer, before war was managing director of Llangynog stone quarry.

Private 47268 Joseph Whiteley, 19 Bn Manchester Regiment. and brother Private 2261 Bert Whiteley, 1/7 Bn Manchester Regiment.   both  boiler riveter and an iron turner  – Railway

Lieutenant Herbert Parsons,  10 Bn West Yorkshire. Rgt. (Prince of Wales’s Own). KIA 14 April 1917. Arras Memorial (unknown)   Engineer Civil (LNER Railway)          Railway
