WW2 Airman Commemorated by Artist

March 24, 2018Published By Caroline TrockaNews

LAC Ernest William Gregg 1379390 (b. 25 January, 1908, d. 4 January 1945) is commemorated in this beautiful painting by his daughter Carol Jones. Ernest served in the RAF during World War Two. He is buried at Oswestry General Cemetery. (CWGC)

The painting has been inspired by a poem from John Maxwell Edmonds (1875-1958):

“When you go home, tell them of us and say
for their tomorrow, we gave our today”
