A possible candidate is George William Williams. Born in 1892 at Oswestry the second of 9 children born to Joseph and Elizabeth Williams. George worked as a grocer’s assistant. In a notice in the Border Counties Advertiser,13 December 1916 he is listed as Private George Williams. Yeomanry.  the son of Mr & Mrs J Williams 8 Leighton Place. Lower Brook Street. ‘Before enlisting 12 months ago (December 1915) was employed by Maypole Dairy Co. at Birkenhead. His parents have since received information he was taken prisoner on 11 November and is at present interred in Germany’. No other information has been discovered about him and it is not known if he survived the war.

George Williams  is  listed in unveiling pamphlet and  Shropshire Roll of Honour as George Williams no details
