40 Staff Sergeant 131932 David W Ellis, Royal Engineers. After the war his widow lived here.
OAK STREET runs from Top of Willow Street to the Castle Bank and on to the town centre

OAKHURST ROAD The road from Oswestry running from the Top White Lion was simply known as the road to Selattyn, i.e. Selattyn Road, prior to the use of the name Oakhurst Road at the beginning of the 20th century

Lance Corporal 7828 John Williams, 1 Bn Gloucestershire Regiment. HIs grandparents’ home. It is possible that Sarah Williams was his mother, not sister, She moved to live in Cheltenham taking John with her.

OSWALD ROAD Now a main route through town built in late 1860s to lead from the new Cambrian railway station. A portion of Leg Street was demolished to make way for the road. This area and over towards Coney Green once collected waste water from the town.

OSWALD ROW Stands to the rear of Queen’s Head Yard reached from Beatrice Street via Madog Place is older than Oswald Road.
